November 21st Bonus Christmas Card Class

Friday, November 21st anytime from 1:30 until 6:15.  

Supplies available all day, while they last.  Bring your favorite adhesive and make one of each for only $12.  Pre-register for class and make any additional for only $1 each.  Note:  the snowman won't mail in an regular flat envelope because it's a treat holder but he makes a great place setting for holiday gatherings!

   

November 7th Card Class

Next month's Card Class is a Christmas Stamp-a-Stack by Missy.  Make two of each of the four festive cards below, for a total of eight cards.  Price is still only $13 and includes envelopes.  Just register today and then come to class on Friday, November 7th with your favorite adhesive(s).

Remember, if you pre-pay by the Monday prior to class you not only reserve you spot but also save $1.

Feeling Overwhelmed with Photos?

Way too many pictures in shoeboxes.  Someone just handed you a ridiculous pile of photos and paraphernalia from ancestors and said, "See what you can do with this."  You have your first child's baby book done but she graduates in two years and you have three more children.  Here's one of the first bits of advice I was given when I started scrapbooking almost 20 years ago.

Organizational Tip:
Start with current photos - Yes, I said it.  Start with current photos.  Skip the baby pics.  It will get you going.  It will help you accomplish something to put out at graduation or look through now.  It will be easier to remember details for journaling.  You can always go back and work on older photos.  Trust me.

If you want to really get a bunch of pages done in a short amount of time, consider trying a preconfigured page like these from We R Memory Keepers multi-pack.  Many are the common 4x6 photos but there are other sizes available as well as assorted sizes on the same page.


The beauty of this style is there is no thought to the layout itself.  You simply slide in photos or journaling boxes or pre-designed tags or whatever.  Here's where we can help you....

Mark your calendar for either 

Thursday, September 18th (choose from 1:30 or 6:15) or 

Saturday, September 20th (choose from 10am or 1pm)

We will make five double page layouts in this class!

Here is an example of what we will do in class

You will need to bring:
photos (about 5-10 per layout,depends on your preference)
your favorite adhesive(s), 
journaling pen and/or alphabet stickers
personal cutter

That's it.  Everything else is provided!  This includes awesome designer cardstock and page protectors as well as the knowledge and confidence to continue to get many pages done in one sitting on your own - maybe at one of our fabulous upcoming crops!

Cost is only $35/person.

Pay only $32/person or $60 for you and a friend when you pre-pay by Saturday, Sept. 13.

September Card Class

On September 5th make 4 cards and 1 treat box.  All pieces and parts provided and pre-cut.  Go home with your finished products and new techniques learned to try at home.

Class is only $13 for all, including envelopes.  Make any additional card (or the box) for only $1 each.  Pay ahead for October's class and pay only $11.

July Saturday Crop

Since we couldn't do a July Full Weekend Crop, we are going to POWER CROP one awesome day on Saturday, July 11th from 10a-10p.

Come prepared for a full day of photos and fun.  Bring your projects and a snack to share, if you like.  Cost is only $7 and will include a light lunch.  Bring a friend, who hasn't come before and you each receive a voucher for $5 in free paper when you pre-pay.

Change of Date

Due to a scheduling conflict the July Weekend Crop will be moved to August 8th and 9th.  Bring a friend and you both receive a voucher for $5 free in paper when you pre-pay by Saturday, August 2nd!

May Challenge Kit (plus a bonus Challenge)

Entries are put up the first day in June that the store is open.  Customers will vote on their favorite paper crafting project (layout, card or other paper project) and the winner will receive the next month's kit - FREE!

Oh, did I forget to mention what the Bonus Challenge is this month?  I want to see what you do with your chipboard.  Cut it, paint it, distress it, ink it, emboss it......be creative.  Winner will receive a seasonal distress ink pack from Tim Holtz and Ranger.

Super Simple Single

I had some leftover Challenge Kits from this month so I grabbed one when I came across these pictures from the zoo.  The Simple Stories ~ Take a Hike collection was just what I was looking for to finish this page.

I love kits and collections because it gets me started and, admittedly, Simple Stories is one of my favorite companies.  Everything coordinates already.  

BTW, if you didn't turn in your Challenge Kit, it's due next Wednesday!

Scrappin' from the Stash

Thought I'd share a page I did quickly with some photos from Christmas.  (Yes, I'm behind.)  

Just a few photos opening the gift and the adorably happy face with her new doll.  I looked in my scraps to see if anything would go with pink AND Christmas and found some paper scraps that coordinated.  Of course, I had to get a full sheet for the main page but look how well it turned out for only 50 cents!

Even that large piece was a scrap.  Since all 12x12 paper is 50 cents at Scrapbook Garden, you could try it, too.  I wonder what's in your scrap box?

Super, Simple Single Inspiration

Fun time had with our homeschool group at the Fredrick Meijer Butterfly Garden and Sculpture Park.  I actually did 5 pages, 2 double page layouts and this single but I can't post the others until I figure out how to blob out some of the kids for privacy.

I very rarely use just one small photo on an entire layout but I just loved this pic and was really inspired by the fun, bright colors of these papers.  I am so ready for a little color in Michigan.

Explorers' Club

Project monthly to try new techniques and tools.

E1401 - March 26th (Wed.) at 1pm or 29th (Sat.) at 10am  

Envelope Punch Board - Come in and learn how to use the fabulously versatile Envelope Punch Board from We R Memory Keepers.  This is the same company that makes the boards for Stampin' Up but for less with no additional shipping and handling costs.  Make envelopes, liners, boxes, treat holders and so many other fun projects.  Cost for the class is $25.  You will receive a punch board, materials, and instructions for class projects.  Just bring your own adhesive.

March Card Class

You really have to see these cards.  Both the "hello" and the gold cards are heat embossed.  The butterfly card opens in a fun and unique way and the watercolor cards is simply fabulous.  

As always, these cards come pre-cut for you to assemble and learn techniques.  $13 "pay at the door" price, $11 pre-pay and $10 if you are new or bringing a friend who is new.
