Boy Double - Let the Little Children

OK, I've been on a boy kick lately.  Maybe it's the fall colors.  I don't know.  I wanted to make a layout for a friend so I didn't add pictures.  I've been itching to use my Crate Paper with the toy them so this seemed the perfect time.

All of these papers are currently available at the store but they are discontinued and no longer available once they sell out.
Look how sweet these old-fashioned wood blocks look.
Anyway, I'm happy with how it turned out but it will look awesome when they add pics of their handsome little man :)

Have a scrappy day and don't forget to vote if you haven't yet!

Simple Single - Sense of Wonder

With a few exceptions, like the apple orchard, pumpkin patch and a few other outdoor destinations, it's the time of year when we Michiganders begin to choose indoor destinations for a day trip.  The Grand Rapids Children's Museum is one of our favorites...

Wonder - qc15

I had just a few photos at from our trip to the Children's Museum.  I found this absolutely perfect paper from WeR Memory Keepers.  I spread the title out to use the gears as the "o" in lose and your.  If you haven't ever been you should really go...even if you don't have kids.  Why do you think I don't have many pics?  I was playing, too!

Happy Scrappin'!

Boy Double - Gridiron Glory

I finally found the pictures from Si's first year of football.  He has enjoyed it even though his number is larger than his weight :)  (Left page photos were taken by Dawn Borup.)

I used all old paper for this layout - Basic Grey, WeR and Crate Paper.  Whenever I find good boy/man paper I stash it away because it's so hard to find.

I think, like Scrappin' Sports, I love the backs of Crate Paper a little more than the fronts.  They are timeless.

Have a great weekend.  If you're bored don't forget to head out to Branch Adventures for HarvestFest beginning at 2pm.

Happy Scrappin',

Fun Double - Berry Patch

Being on a Simple Stories kick, I went back to their Summer Fresh line and was not disappointed at how my layout turned out.  I turned a sketch from soul-scrappers where I once again found inspiration to get started and added a second page, as usual.  The Sketch Challenge was just what I needed for some berry patch photos I had.
The "berry butt" picture is one of my favorites :) and it turned out just like I envisioned it starting out.  That rarely happens.

Here is the sketch...

Here is a close-up of the left side...
I think this would look good as a single page for you those of you who prefer.  For those of you who like double page layouts I like to bring elements of one page onto the other to tie them in.  Sometimes it's paper or a continued embellishment.  Here it was the cardstock and the last of the 3 photos.

...and here is the right side.

So long summer.  You were great while you lasted :)

Wet Christmas

 White Wet Christmas
I don't think I posted this layout I did several weeks ago.  We were in Florida over Christmas.  A huge difference from Michigan!  The whole family really enjoyed the heated, outdoor pool.  It was also different to see the tiny tree barely taller than the kids vs. our usual, gorgeous, hand picked and cut-by-daddy pine :)

I was inspired by a challenge on Soul-Scrappers called gdt2.  Besides the single page sketch, which I stretched into a double page layout, it called for stitching.

The close-up shows the hand stitching I did to make the waves using my SEWeasy tool from WeR and also the "Wet" part of the title using Glossy Accents.

I wasn't as happy with the machine stitching I used to make my journal lines or to sew on the large circle in the upper right corner but I used the tiniest sewing machine on earth to try it out.  lol.  live and learn!

Have a great week!

Using the Aug Kit :)

I was playing with the gorgeous August kit featuring graphic 45 paper from the Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe line.  It went perfectly with #3's photos from Branch Adventures Horsemanship Camp with a Kingdom theme, especially since he was in the Robinhood group.

So, if you haven't used your kit yet, you may still work on it and turn it in to have it voted on.

Here's the left side.

Fussy cut the old bottle and used pop dots to give a bit of dimension.  The double bottle has two pop dots stacked to give even more.

Of course all the little snippets had to have old fashioned font and then be beat up and ink applied to give them just the right abused look ;)

Here's the right side...

This close-up shows the sanding here and there and also the EK Success edger punches used to individualize them.

I used some old alpha stamps to just date and title for posterity.

Enjoy!
