Single Inspiration (with a plan for a page 2 :)

I had just a few photos of baseball this year.  Somewhere I have tucked the large team photo we ordered but until then this is a one page layout :)  

Inspiration came from a blog called Little Nugget Creations.  I was just surfing and came across a layout I liked based on a sketch from Lily Bee Designs.  I couldn't find it on the Lily Bee site but here it is from Little Nugget...

So someday I may finish the second page but with five kids my son may graduate and this will be what's finished.  I'll let you know in eight years!


BTW, I used picket fence distress stain, coordinations fired brick and black soot, really old stickers (that's not a brand name :) and Creative Imaginations pp.

Summer {Sale}bration: A story

One ridiculously hot day, some downtown Saranac business owners were talking and decided to have a sale.  The thought process went something like this....

"Hey, let's have a sale."

"Good idea.  Sounds like fun."

"How about a sidewalk sale with special prices and what-not."

"How about in and outdoors so we can have the air on :)"

So, a new Saranac celebration, excuse me "Sale"bration, began for the first two weeks in July and I am going to have fun!

Since The Garden always has 75 cent premium paper, 50 paper and 25 cent clearance paper, as well as 20% off everything...always.  Well, I had to come up with something else.  So here goes:

Ionia Free Fair Opportunity

This will be the second year the fair will be offering a paper arts section.  Click here to go directly to the Art & Photography Dept. page.  Entries will be accepted on Saturday, July 14th and Sunday, July 15th from 1pm until 6pm.


SO...get working on those projects and get them ready to submit!


But wait!  There's another opportunity.  We need volunteers to "babysit" the art :)  Sign up as a family or as a business.  We will show our thanks with a prominent display listing you as a friend of the fair.  Shifts are only 3 hours segments of 12-3pm; 3-6pm and 6-9pm.  Get some fun fair food, come sit and chat with folks as they come in.

Single Inspiration

Usually when I'm scrapbooking I start with pictures and then find some patterned paper, figure out my layout and finally add the bling.  But once in a while, when I'm super busy (which happens sometimes) or when I just can't get started, I go to the web.  I look for sketch ideas or challenges or even other layouts.  Today was one such day :)


So, I surfed.  I came across OnceUponaSketch and found a fun and simple sketch.  

  

Well, it was a bit more layered than I wanted for my little man's birthday but the basic idea got me going.  Then I went to SoulScrappers and found a Cookin' Up Creations challenge that required the use of banners, buttons and twine.  I put them together and...voila!

OK, I didn't have twine because it got used at camp but I had gold thread.  I'm an improviser :)
