Single Inspiration
I did another layout for myself. I usually do double page layouts but every once in a while I just have a few pics. I used a sketch from Soul-Scrappers.ning.com for this layout. The first pic was the typical "mom has the camera out again" reaction. Then Gabriel started to giggle and get his brother leading to the half-fake smile in the second photo. Finally, they both smiled. Yay!

Table Top Display
My friend, Nancy, made the simplest little table display and I just had to try. All she used is a 12x12 sheet of 2 sided paper, scraps and embellishments. I used my Martha Stewart score board to score at 3, 6 and 9 inches and the turned the sheet and scored at 6 inches.
I'm currently out of the score boards but have some on order. Unlike the Scor-Pal at $39.99 retail, Martha's is only $19.99. Of coarse at the 20% we give off retail here that's only $16.00!!
I cut 2 inches off for the tags to show, used a hole punch halfway at the top of each section to mirror the top of the tags and embellished. The stamp set I used is the Mini Holidays 2 set from Tim Holtz. (Retail $29.99 sold at the Garden for $24.00) The more I use this set the more I love it. I looked at some of the images and thought, "I'll never use that one." I do. I use them all!
Here are a few tags before pictures have been added.
Used that little hole punch again to make the "make merry" tag look like a ticket.
I plan on making these with the kids at our family Christmas. Thought it'd be easy if I pre-made them and then let the kiddos add picures and embellishments. They can be embellished to overflowing or left simple and either way they look festive and fun!

Deadline: Each month’s submission is due at the end of that month.
Points: Something new added beginning January 2011. Points will be given for all challenges participated in.

What: A free challenge for you to use specific items in your stash. The challenge might be for consumable items like paper or stickers or to use tools like your crop-o-dile or a punch.
Goal: Use all of the items. If you don’t have an item in your stash, substitute for something else and name the substitution with your submission. The goal is to use up items you’ve been accumulating not to add to it J (Yes, this isn’t really a help to the store’s income but we’re here to serve you and besides---it’s fun!)
When: Twice monthly. Email will be sent out the 1st and 15th of each month.
Deadline: Submissions are due the 14th and last day of the month accordingly.

1-photos included in scrapbook layouts (layouts only)
1-title and journaling included (layouts only)
1-cards with anything on the inside or on a submitted envelope (cards only)
Winners will be chosen by me, Roni, based on the points above. Yes, you can slap on all the stuff and get all the points. See, I know what you’re thinking J but then I will take the top point-getters and choose a winner based on how the items were used, originality of item, balance of entry, etc.
Prizes: Winner will receive a prize donated by Scrapbook Garden .
Monthly Explorers Club
What: A group interested in trying new things. Some may not be new but you haven’t used in a while or may find a new way to use something.
Goal: The object is to experience what else is out there and broaden your horizons paper-craftingly speaking! Only submissions using the challenge tool or item will be accepted. Items must be designed and created by you. The goal is for you to feel comfortable using the item!
When: Twice monthly we will meet for Explorers Club Art Bar. SG will offer a FREE project for you to do using the challenge item. You are then challenged to make your own project for entry. This Art Bar will be for our customers who are 18 years of age or older. If it goes well we may add a children’s art bar periodically.
Deadline: Both of the month’s submissions are due at the end of the month.
Points: Points for the Explorers’ Club will be issued for:
1-creative use of challenge item or tool
1-photos included in scrapbook layouts (layouts only)
1-title and journaling included (layouts only)
1-cards with anything on the inside or on a submitted envelope (cards only)

Another Bonus: As long as we’re able you may purchase the Cuttlebug Machine for $55.00. We will be using this for several challenges throughout the year. If you do not have one the store has one available for use for free any time we aren’t holding a crop or class.

Batman!
I was playing a bit. Kathy is using Ranger's pitch black paint dabbers for her class at the Clarksville Bible Crop on Oct. 23rd. I had a new Tim Holtz seasonal mask with a bat and together they made a great and simple embellishment for Batman. The gate to Batman's lair is made using my Cricut and the Heritage cartridge and covered with Ranger's Glossy Accents. I wasn't sure I would use Distress Stickles much but the less shiny black soot worked great for this page as "rivets" on my homemade photo corners!
I usually do 2 page layouts because I have so many pictures but lately I've been doing up some of those single pages where I don't have enough for a double spread. It's lots of fun and I produce more but I still think I tell our story better on 2 pages.

Josiah's Baptism
Josiah asked to be baptized on his birthday. I just couldn't resist doing this layout for my Soul Scrapper's Soul Quest Challenge. They always have a bunch of challenges going on but for SSQ someone sends an envelope of items to everyone signed up and we all have to make a layout incorporating all the items.
In this kit I got the arrows on a scrap of acetate, both ribbons, the paperclip, 3 square brads, 6 tiny paper flowers, 2 sheet of stickers to choose 2 from each (I used 2 arrows, an exclamation point and the "individual results may vary" on the lower right photo), the stamped boot treads on white paper, a small tag, the clear pebbles in the upper right corner and we had to put the saying on the layout somewhere in any way we chose.
I have done 2 of these challenges so far and thoroughly enjoyed someone telling me what to do (at least in part) rather than having to create everything myself. It's also challenging to try to use ALL the items.
The Garden has a similar monthly challenge kit. The challenge is to use all AND only the items provided. But of course, you'll want to create something you'll use. Make a card or a single or double page layout of any size using the items provided.
For October's challenge you'll receive 2 sheets of patterned paper, 1 sheet of orange, 3 sheets of fall rub-ons from My Little Yellow Bicycle, 1 wire leaf, choice of another patterned paper from MLYB pad and choice of 12" of ribbon.
Kits are available all month and due the last day of the month to be displayed at the store for the next month. Cost is $6. Winner, as voted by customers, receives a $10 gift certificate to Scrapbook Garden. Another winner is then drawn from remaining entries and receives next month's kit for FREE!

New Items In
I have been having a great time playing with all the new items coming in.
It's like a kid in a candy store with all the new Stickles colors. I've been working on layouts for
Cricut class for the Clarksville Bible Crop on the 23rd but also squeezed in a few for my kids :)
Clarksville Bible Crop
This post is from Kathy Evans, coordinator of the Clarksville Bible Crop:
I am so excited to announce our 2nd scrapbooking retreat on Saturday, October 23rd, 2010!
We have many great gifts that we will be giving away hourly and, of course, we have our door prize! We are also bringing back our scrapbook store and our silent action.
So, if you have no use for that extra scrapbooking item and yet it is too good to throw away- we would love to have it donated to our action!
We kept the cost at a low $20 which will include your meals(lunch and supper.) Please bring your beverage. We have added some extras! For each paying guest we have designed a 12x12 lay~out page to add to your album for free! We have also decided to bring in a couple of classes to offer you. These will be offered at different times so that if you wish to attend both you may. We have a Christmas card class which will allow you to make 4 beautiful cards for $10. Three of these cards are pictured below. If you wish to make more of the cards you were taught you may purchase the paper products and use my stamps/die cuts. This class will be taught by myself, Kathy Evans.
Also we have brought in a circut class for those who are not sure how to use their machine along with all of its buttons. This class is taught by Roni Nash and will cost $10.
All funds raised on this day will go towards our church building fund. We have already begun to fill our seats so if you are planning on attending please call and RSVP. (616)374-7307 Bring a paying guest and choose a class for ½ OFF! I can not wait to see each of you! (Doors open at .)

My First Blogspot Post
I am trying a new blog to see if I can upload pictures and move things easier. Since the picture of the kids is showing...apparently I can. Yay! I'm already excited that I can change the font and size without writing code.
Anyway, yes, this is a paper crafting blog. I'll do more with that eventually. I'll take some pics of projects later and upload them...
